Hill’s Food Voluntary Recall
We have just been made aware of a voluntary recall of Hill’s Pet Nutrition food. No cat food or dry food has been affected. Details of the recall from Hill’s can be found below (as taken from Hill’s Pet Nutrition website). If you have any questions or you are worried your pet could be affected or unwell, please call the clinic.
Hill’s Pet Nutrition is voluntarily recalling select canned dog food products due to potentially elevated levels of vitamin D. While vitamin D is an essential nutrient for dogs, ingestion of elevated levels and length of exposure can lead to potential health issues.

If you have purchased a product that has been listed above you should discontinue feeding immediately and contact your veterinarian for a refund/replacement product. For anyone who has purchased these products from us and have pets exhibiting any of the symptoms below we are offering a free health check up, simply give us a call on 9807 9222 and mention the product you have purchased. Please note: in most cases, complete recovery is expected after discontinuation of feeding.
Symptoms which may occur due to elevated levels of vitamin D include:
- vomiting
- loss of appetite
- increased thirst
- increased urination
- excessive drooling
- weight loss
